Billing Policies
Scheduled Billing
Our classes run on monthly billing. You will be notified that a bill is due in advance via an online invoice. Bills are due in the last week of each month for the following month of classes. The invoice will include the option to set up recurring automatic payments. You will also be notified periodically when there are outstanding charges on your account, such as coaching fees. If we do not hear otherwise within one week of the notification email, we will charge the card on file to settle the balance. While we also accept cash and checks, keeping a card on file makes billing easier for both parties.
Late Fee
Any payments not received within two weeks of the notification email will be subject to a 10% late payment fee.
Refund Policy
There are no refunds for class fees after the first week of the month. Refunds requested during the first week of the term will be subject to a 10% administrative fee. After the first week the full month's fee will be charged.
Payment Method
We accept cash, check, or card for all class and lesson fees. The easiest way to ensure timely payment is to keep a card on file and enroll in autopay for classes. If you prefer to pay by cash or check, a 10% administrative fee will be added to the bill. If a card transaction fails, you must provide an updated card within one week of being notified, or a 10% administrative late fee will be applied. This policy ensures that all bills are paid on time at the beginning of each month.
Annual Memberships
Yearly memberships are available until August 1 for $750. After this date, a monthly membership is available for $90 per month. We do not prorate annual memberships. Memberships are required for all classes, excluding Fence for Fun, Learn to Fence, and Adult Learn to Fence. Membership alone does not grant access to classes.

Lesson Policy
General Lesson Policy
Private lessons are available with any BFC coach. While the front desk can assist with lesson billing questions, scheduling and payment are handled online through our member portal. For scheduling questions, please contact your coach directly. Coach emails are available on our staff page.Missed lessons due to staff absence for competitions will be rescheduled at the earliest opportunity.
Fencers must wear a mask and glove during all lessons. Additional gear may be required at the discretion of the coach.
Lesson Billing
Lesson scheduling and billing are completed online via our member portal. Lessons must be paid for in advance. Once booked, lessons may be cancelled through the online portal up to 24 hours before the scheduled time. No refunds will be issued for no-shows or late arrivals that interfere with the next scheduled lesson.
Weapon Repair Policy
General Lesson Policy
Our club armorer, Al Merritt, is happy to assist with all equipment needs. Please leave broken equipment in the designated box with your name, phone number, and a description of the issue. If you need help labeling your equipment, a BFC staff member will be happy to assist.
Once repairs are complete, your name will be added to the “Weapons Repair Pickup” list on the front hallway notice board. You will also receive an emailed invoice. Payment can be made online or in cash. Once payment is received, front desk staff will release your equipment.
Clothing Policy
All fencers must wear long athletic pants or fencing knickers, along with closed-toe athletic shoes. Non-athletic pants, such as jeans, are not permitted. Boots and other outdoor footwear are not allowed on the strips. Please bring a separate pair of indoor athletic shoes, as street shoes can dirty the fencing strips.
