About the event
Dear Parents and Fencers!
The Boston Fencing Club is hosting a potluck at 7:00pm on June 23rd! The Potluck will start at 7:00pm for all members, youth and adults. You are welcome to bring food to share, please use the link below to let us know what you would like to bring!
Here are some important details for the party:
The 5:30 pm youth competitive class will be “teach your parent to fence” themed. Students can bring a parent or guardian and teach them how to fence during class. Take a master fencing class from your fencer and see them show off their fencing tool belt. The best method of retaining knowledge is through teaching, so come take a class with your student and give them the opportunity to implement their lessons and gain a whole new perspective.
All adult classes will occur at their usual times during the potluck and there will also still be open fencing! All fencers, whether in class or open fencing are open to join the potluck or grab a bite in between fencing from 7 - 9pm to fuel for your next bout!
During the potluck, we'll have an equipment swap! The purpose of this equipment swap is to trade equipment students have grown out of to help mitigate your expenses. This is a great way to save money and help the environment! Parents can bring equipment they no longer need and search through what others have brought. Please note that equipment must be functional and safe. There cannot be any holes, odor, important missing compartments such as a missing zipper that would make the gear not functional.
We will also have stenciling available for lames and jackets! Starting 5:30pm, Nina will be stenciling jackets and lames. Anybody who wants stenciling should bring their thing on Friday and expect to wait around for at least an hour to pick it up.
As a reminder, June 23rd will also be the last day of lessons, open fencing and private lessons. The Boston Fencing Club is closed for classes and lessons in the month of July. We will only be open last week of July for clinics, and in August we will have private lessons and open bouting.
Ria will be at the front desk for any and all questions you may have. She is also available to answer any questions about the new year. An email about the 2023-2024 season schedule and structure is currently in process, so please stay tuned for that email!
