Instructional Classes 07-08(One Hour)

The sport of fencing is introduced, including basic techniques, rules, etiquette and history.  Students learn the guard position, simple attacks, defense and movement.   Safety and fun are emphasized. Each subsequent class develops and refines fundamental fencing techniques in a logical progression.

 

Students may attend one or both sections of the class for their age group at the same price.  Fee includes use of equipment as well as a fencing glove for first-time Fencing 1 and  Fence For Fun students* . Though we do require US Fencing association membership, it is not necessary to pay Boston Fencing Club dues in order to enroll in instructional or pre-competitive level classes.

 

 

NEW! Youth Sabre 1  - Ages 10-15 - Saturday 11:30am

Prior fencing experience AND permission of instructor is required  Completion of  Sabre 1 is REQUIRED for students wishing to move into Pre-competitive  Sabre.  May be repeated.

$180 per term plus $50 USFA membership (USFA membership good through 7/31/08)

Fencers will learn the basic techniques and rules of sabre.  Students enrolled in  sabre 1 may also attend a Tuesday or Thursday Fencing 4 class.

 

NEW! Adult Epee! - Ages 15 and up - Tuesday 8pm

Prior fencing experience is required.  May be repeated.

Learn the rules, techniques and tactics of the weapon with no right-of-way.

 

Fence for Fun – Ages 6-8 – Sat. 8:30-9:30am

For our youngest fencers, this class is designed to introduce the sport of fencing and develop basic coordination through fun and games. Kids age 6-8 may repeat this class until they are old enough to move into our regular instructional classes.

Home School

Combined levels 1-4, all ages Wednesday 10:30am

Home school students may attend one of our regularly scheduled classes as well.

 

 

Classes scheduled to meet at the same time may be combined depending on enrollment.
