Youth Program Level 1

Monday – Thursday 4:30-5:30pm & Saturday 10:00–11:00am.

Level 1 class is a seven week class that focuses on games and exercises designed to introduce our youngest fencers to the sport of fencing. This class runs once a week.

Youth Program Level 2

Monday – Thursday 4:30-5:30pm & Saturday 10:00–11:00am.

Level 2 is a seven week program designed to introduce students  to the basics of fencing. Instruction will include games, footwork, and basic attacks, defense, and tactics. This class may be repeated but students are expected to progress toward the Level 3 class over the course of one or two terms. Level 2 fencers are encouraged to attend class twice a week.

Youth Program Level 3

Monday - Thursday 4:30-5:30pm & Saturday 10:00-11:00am
Level 3 is a seven week weapon specific class where you learn the basic techniques and skills involved with fencing foil, epee or sabre. You can stay in Level 3 for as long as you like but it is expected that you would move to youth competitive after roughly 5 terms.

Students are encouraged to attend at least three times a week.

Teen Learn to Fence

Monday 7:00-8:00pm & Saturday 11:00am-12:00pm

Come learn the exciting sport of fencing in our active and fun social environment. Beginning students will learn the basic attacks, defense and tactics of the sport while improving overall fitness and agility over a seven week term. For students aged 13-19.

Teen Tactical

Monday - Thursday 7:00-8:30pm

Students choose one night a week from the above times

The teen tactical program is designed around introducing high school level fencers to a more competitive training environment over a seven week term. Students will participate in one night a week of the competitive class in the weapon of their choosing. The intention is that students will transition to the competitive program when they feel comfortable.

Fencers should have at least 3 months of previous fencing experience. Equipment is not required for the class but is recommended.

Adult Learn to Fence

Tuesday 7:30-8.30pm & Saturday 11:00am-12:00pm

Come learn the exciting sport of fencing in our active and fun social environment. Beginner students will learn the basic attacks, defense and tactics of the sport while improving overall fitness and agility over a seven week term. Our adult program includes fencers in their twenties, thirties, forties and beyond.

Adult Intermediate

Tuesday 7:30-8:30pm & Saturday 12:00-1:00pm

Designed to follow from our learn to fence program, this class continues to teach the tactical and technical aspects of fencing, focusing on foil.  Fencers should be confident with footwork and a basic knowledge to get the most from this class.

Club membership is also required for this class. 

Youth Competitive

Monday - Thursday 5:30-7:00pm & Saturday 12:00-2:00pm 

This seven week class is for fencers aged 8-14 who have completed the Youth Intermediate Program or are recommended by a staff member. The class is designed to introduce students to competition and develop the technical, physical, mental, and emotional skills necessary to succeed. Students begin to receive short private lessons to cultivate their individual skills and abilities. Athletes are expected to provide their own equipment.
Youth competitive students may also add one or two weekly private lessons at additional charge.

Competitive Training

Monday - Thursday 7:00-9:30pm & Saturday 12:00-2:00pm 

The Competitive Program is a seven week program designed for athletes who are competing at national and international levels. Their goals may include: winning a national championship, competing for an NCAA college, or competing on a U.S. National Team.

Additional training times for conditioning or other topics will be scheduled with the coaches. As part of their training, competitive fencers may take private lessons during the week with their weapon specific coaches. Fencers are encouraged to free fence during open fencing on off weapon days.

Fencers looking to join the Competitive Program will have completed the Youth Competitive Program or be recommended by a staff member.

Open Bouting

Monday – Thursday 7:30–9:30pm

Open bouting is a chance for more experienced fencers to free fence with our members. Fencers are expected to bring their own equipment.

College students are welcome to join this session, please present a valid student card on arrival. Non-Members will be required to pay a $10 floor fee.
